The Corner Canyon Chargers, ranked first in Utah and No. 12 nationally, traveled to Florida in Week 2 to face the West Broward Bobcats in the Broward County National Football Showcase.
Before kickoff, the teams engaged in a heated exchange that included trash talk, clanking helmets, and coaches stepping in to hold players back.

In sports, you can chirp all you’d like, but the biggest statements are made between the lines.
The Chargers did more or less whatever they wanted when it was game time. They shut down the Bobcats’ offense in the first half, and were able to march down the field with the ball a few times before the break.
They opened scoring with five minutes left in the first quarter on a Helaman Casuga scramble. After a field goal and another Casuga rushing TD, they led 17-0 at halftime.

West Broward was able to get on the board in the third quarter. Two effective drives ended in goal-line rushing scores at the beginning and end of the quarter.
The Bobcats still got outscored 14-13 in the third, though. Running back Weston Briggs took a 16-yard rush and a 2-yard rush to the end zone, making the score 31-13 heading into the final quarter.
Corner Canyon freshman King Cooper put the cherry on top of the dominant performance with a fourth-quarter TD to make the score 38-13.

This marks the second year in a row that Corner Canyon has defeated a team from the Sunshine State.
In 2024, IMG Academy came into Draper, and the Chargers handed them a one-point loss. The win over West Broward ended up being a little more personal with the pre-game antics.
At the end of the day, don’t tease the dog if you don’t want to get bitten.
