PROVO, Utah- Dallin Hall was one of three BYU basketball players to enter the transfer portal following the Cougars’ NCAA Tournament run, and it didn’t take long for him to find a new home.
Dallin Hall will be going out east to join the Virginia Cavaliers, where he will be coached by former Utah State head coach Ryan Odom.

Dallin Hall At BYU
The 6’4 guard out of Plain City, Utah spent three years as a member of the BYU Cougars.
Dallin played in more than 30 games in each of his seasons in Provo, however, his production and minutes dropped significantly with the coaching change from Mark Pope to Kevin Young.
In 2023-2024, Hall started in 30 games and averaged nine points per game. He also distributed the ball well, with more than five assists per game. Cougar fans will also remember from that year when Hall hit a clutch three-pointer to beat No. 7 Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse.

In 2025, while he still played a productive role, Dallin only started in ten games, and more than two points fell off his season average.
The Situation At Virginia
The Virginia Cavaliers spent the 2024-25 season under interim head coach Ron Sanchez after long-standing coach Tony Bennett retired prior to the season.
The Cavaliers went 15-17 overall, finishing 11th in the ACC, missing the NCAA Tournament. Sanchez was relieved of his duties following the campaign, and Virginia hired Ryan Odom, fresh off a March Madness appearance, from VCU and Utah State, before that.
The Virginia Cavaliers will ring in a new era with a fresh coaching staff and roster, and Dallin Hall will be a core piece.
