BYU Guard Egor Demin To Enter 2025 NBA Draft

PROVO, Utah – Egor Demin is off to the NBA.
After taking some time to decide on his next move after the season’s conclusion, the star BYU point guard Demin is reportedly league-bound.

Demin spoke to reporters in a press conference to publicly announce his decision on Tuesday.
The move doesn’t come as a surprise, as he was always viewed as a likely one-and-done prospect when he signed with BYU from Real Madrid last summer.
But Demin, a native of Moscow, Russia, immersed himself as a BYU guy over the past year. Like any freshman, Demin had his share of up-and-down play, particularly against physical guard lines. So many wondered if his NBA draft stock took a hit.
Demin even left the door open for a potential return to BYU for a sophomore season to team up with No. 1 recruit AJ Dybantsa moments after BYU’s NCAA Tournament loss to Alabama on March 27.
Instead, he’s off to the NBA, where he’s expected to be a lock for the first round. The question is, how high will he go?
Many mock drafts project Demin at the end of the lottery or into the high 20s.
The NBA draft occurs on June 25 and 26 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Demin, at 6 feet 9 inches and close to a 7-foot wingspan, has the measurables that NBA teams will covet. Plus, he was an excellent distributor at BYU.
Demin finished his freshman season with averages of 10.6 points, 5.5 assists, and 3.9 rebounds. He was the starter for BYU’s first run to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 in 14 years.
Demin earned Honorable Mention All-Big 12 honors and All-Freshman Team recognition for his play.
During the NCAA Tournament, Demin scored in double-figures in all three games.
The three-point shooting will be an area of discussion for Demin’s game. Demin shot 27.3% from three-point range this past season.
