It’s the first time since 2021 that BYU is ranked in the final AP Top 25 poll.
BYU moved up four spots from the No. 17 ranking they held entering the NCAA Tournament.
The No. 13 final ranking is the sixth-highest finish in program history.
BYU finished the 2025 season with a 26-10 record. However, their run in the NCAA Tournament was more notable than their record.
BYU reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2011, before falling to the Alabama Crimson Tide. Alabama finished ranked No. 6 in the final AP Top 25 poll.
BYU finished as the third-highest ranked Big 12 team behind only national runner-up Houston (No. 2) and Texas Tech (No. 8).
The Big 12 had five teams ranked in the final AP Top 25.
BYU reached the final No. 13 ranking in the first year under head coach Kevin Young. Richie Saunders and Egor Demin led the Cougars as they stormed to only the program’s third-ever Sweet 16 appearance.
