PROVO, Utah- First-year Head Coach Kevin Young flexed his recruiting muscles when AJ Dybantsa, the nation’s top high school recruit, committed to play his college basketball in Provo for the BYU Cougars back in November.

Dybantsa is giving BYU fans yet another reason to be excited as he added another accolade to his young resume, being named to the USA Basketball Nike Hoop Summit, where he will have the chance to showcase his abilities against some of the best young players in the world.

AJ Dybantsa At The Nike Hoop Summit

Every year, the top men’s and women’s prospects from around the globe gather in the United States for the Nike Hoop Summit.

The rosters feature the best players globally under the age of 19. The United States builds its roster with the country’s best high school players, while the world roster pulls from every other country around the globe. Each roster includes 12 players.

Last year’s group included some familiar names like Cooper Flagg, Isaiah Evans, and even AJ Dybantsa himself. Dybantsa was a part of the World Team, representing the Congo, where his father was born, and Jamaica where his mother is from.

Since 2008, the Nike Hoop Summit has been held at Moda Center, just 11 miles from the Nike World Headquarters in Portland, Oregon, and will once again be the home for the Summit in 2025.

This year the event will be held on Saturday, April 12, with the women’s game starting at 5:30 p.m. MT and the men’s game tipping off at 8:00 p.m. MT.

Other Familiar Faces On The Nike Hoop Summit Roster

Utah Jazz fans might also recognize the last name “Boozer” on the 2025 USA roster. Cameron and Cayden Boozer, twin sons of Carlos Boozer, also made the USA roster.

Carlos Boozer was a 6’9 power forward in the NBA and spent six years in Salt Lake City as a member of the Utah Jazz between 2004 and 2010. During that stretch, Boozer played 354 games for Utah and averaged a double-double with 19.3 points and 10.5 rebounds.

Both of Carlos’ sons have committed to and will play together at Duke where their dad played his college basketball.
