BYU Basketball Enters AP Top 25 For First Time This Season

PROVO, Utah – For the first time under head coach Kevin Young, BYU basketball is in the AP Top 25.
The national pollsters were impressed by BYU’s 34-point victory over Kansas and a 96-95 upset win on the road at Arizona inside the McKale Center.
BYU sneaks into the poll at No. 25 in the week 17 poll.
One of the hottest teams in the country, BYU is currently on a four-game winning streak and has won eight of their last 10.

The Cougars are 19-8 overall and 10-6 in Big 12 play.
Kansas dropped out of the poll, ending an 80-week streak of being in the AP Top 25. Arizona fell to No. 22, down three spots, after the loss to BYU.
BYU is one of five Big 12 teams in this week’s AP Top 25 poll. The Cougars join Houston (4), Iowa State (9), Texas Tech (10), and Arizona.
BYU’s appearance in this week’s poll is the 155th week in program history in the AP Top 25.
Last season, BYU was a regular in the Top 25 rankings, staying in the poll for 16 of the final 18 weeks of last season.
The national ranking is the first for BYU basketball under head coach Kevin Young.
BYU will take its AP Top 25 ranking on the road this Wednesday to Arizona State in Tempe. The Cougars will close the week against West Virginia at the Marriott Center on Saturday.
