BYU Women’s Volleyball Releases Inaugural Big 12 Schedule

PROVO, Utahย – BYU women’s volleyball is the latest program to release its inaugural Big 12 schedule.
Unlike the other fall sports, football, and soccer, BYU volleyball will face every team in the Big 12 that offers women’s volleyball. The only program that doesn’t play women’s volleyball is Oklahoma State.

BYU will have an 18-game schedule that consists of six teams they will face on back-to-back nights. The league opener will be at historic Smith Fieldhouse on Wednesday, September 20, against Houston. Then three days later, they will host the Baylor Bears in Provo.
The following week, BYU goes on the road to face the defending National Champion Texas Longhorns at Gregory Gymnasium on September 28 and 29 in Austin. Texas is the six-time defending league champion. They became the fourth Big 12 team to win a National Championship last season.
BYU closes out its inaugural Big 12 schedule with a pair of road games at West Virginia on November 22, then at TCU on November 25. TCU was a former Mountain West rival. The two programs have met 17 times, with BYU holding a 14-3 lead all-time. BYU’s last meeting with TCU was in 2010.
BYU’s non-conference schedule will be released at a later date.
Last season, BYU finished with a 22-7 record and they advanced to the NCAA Tournament Second Round before falling to No. 2 seed Pitt.
BYU is coached by Heather Olmstead, who is entering her ninth season leading the program.

Nov. 3-4 – Cincinnati
Nov. 9-10 – at UCF
Nov. 17 – Kansas
Nov. 22 – at West Virginia
Nov. 25 – at TCU
