SALT LAKE CITY – Junior BYU quarterback Jaren Hall is expected to have a tremendous season for the Cougars in 2022 and should raise his NFL Draft stock.

After throwing for 2,583 yards, 20 touchdowns and five interceptions for BYU last season, Jaren Hall is now on the radar as a prospect that NFL Draft scouts need to keep their eye on.

The BYU quarterback sat down with KSL Sports’ Jeremiah Jensen to talk about his future, but Hall is only focused on being the best he can be this season.

“Regardless of what happens after the season, my focus right now is to be my best come September when we play USF and throughout the rest of the year,” Hall said. “All of the other details will take care of themself. I have a responsibility to be at my best for game one.”

Entering the 2021 season, Hall was in a quarterback battle with Baylor Romney and Jacob Conover for the starting job. Now that he has the job this season before fall camp begins, Hall has a different mental and physical approach compared to last year at this time.

“Quite a bit ahead,” Hall stated. “Last year had a lot of questions. Not worried, just pressure to be the starter. Now it’s just ways to take my game to the next level and mentally prepare better and just be better all around.”

Hall is among the best to play the quarterback position in BYU history. That list is long and is what BYU is best known for is their quarterback play. Hall loves the pressure that comes with being a BYU QB.

“It’s been cool,” said Hall. “One, just being from here, having my dad and older brother play before me, growing up watching and hearing about his stories to now being here as a quarterback in the town I grew up in, with the people that I know and love and all of the new people I have met since, it’s a blessing. It’s surreal every time I take the field especially here at LaVell Edwards Stadium. It’s a dream come true every time. I can’t get enough of it. I’m trying to soak it all up the best I can.”

Hall and the Cougars will take the field on Saturday, September 3 against USF in Tampa, Florida.
