Jaren Hall Partners With BYU Athlete To Create Anti-Bullying NIL Campaign

PROVO, Utah – BYU’s Jaren Hall continues to pile up the NIL endorsements. Of course, being a star quarterback at BYU who leads his team to a 10-win season and national ranking lends itself to those opportunities.
The latest Name, Image, and Likeness deal for BYU’s QB1 isn’t your typical NIL deal. Instead, Hall looks to give back to the community by launching an anti-bullying campaign.
With his wife Bre and daughter Jayda, Hall shared a post on his Instagram to announce his partnership with the clothing brand Default Happiness to begin the campaign.

“KINDNESS COUNTS (emoji) excited for the future working alongside @defaulthappiness to bring a positive message to the community. LEARN. LOVE. OVERCOME. Visit @defaulthappiness to learn more about the ‘kindness counts’ initiative and clothing drop coming soon! Let’s make a difference together,” wrote Hall, who enters his second year as BYU’s starting quarterback.
Default Happiness is a business created by current BYU basketball guard Trey Stewart. Since NIL became an opportunity for college athletes last July, not only are athletes able to sign endorsement deals, but they can also launch their own businesses.
Default Happiness was launched by Stewart with the goal of changing the stigma around mental health in sports.

Stewart, who created Default Happiness last November, signed Hall to the NIL agreement last February. He also signed former BYU guard and current NBA hopeful Alex Barcello.
“I wanted to work with athletes at our school to promote things that are important to them,” said Stewart, who appeared in 11 games during his first season with BYU basketball. “It’s the first-ever athlete-owned company signing other athletes. With Jaren, we’re going to do an anti-bullying campaign because that means a lot to him.”

Stewart’s company sells t-shirts and hoodies that feature a smiley face logo and uplifting messages. He also customizes sneakers. Some of Stewart’s customized kicks recipients include Hall’s QB teammate, Jacob Conover, basketball star Fousseyni Traore, and the Voice of the Cougars, Greg Wrubell.
Anti-bullying T-Shirt
Default Happiness released a t-shirt that will be available soon for purchase on its website centered around Hall’s anti-bully campaign. The campaign will also have an initiative to help lift those who have dealt with bullies.
Hall is wearing the shirt in his Instagram post. The cost of the shirt is $25, and on the front, it states, “Kindness Counts.” On the back reads, “Learn. Love. Overcome.”
Default Happiness’s store states all sales from Jaren Hall’s anti-bullying t-shirt will “go towards making change.”
