TV Info, Kickoff Time Revealed For BYU Football Game At Baylor

PROVO, Utah – After weeks of BYU football after dark, the Cougars are starting to pick up day games.
The Big 12 Conference, BYU’s future league home beginning in 2023, announced tv info for games coming up on October 16. BYU travels to Big 12 country to take on the Baylor Bears.
#BYU vs. Baylor on October 16 on the banks of the Brazos will kick at 2:30 p.m. (CT)/1:30 p.m. (MT) on ESPN or ESPN2.

BYU and Baylor will kick off at 1:30 p.m. (MDT)/2:30 p.m. (CDT) in Waco. The game will be televised on ESPN or ESPN2. ESPN will make a decision on which channel the game falls on six days before kickoff.
BYU has emerged as one of the nation’s top stories this season. The Cougars are No. 10 in the latest AP and Coaches Top 25 polls, while Baylor is 4-1 after a season where they won only two games a year ago.
Despite not playing against one another since 1984, there will be no shortage of familiarity between the two programs. For example, Baylor offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes was at BYU the past three seasons before moving to Waco this past winter.

Grimes brought with him offensive line coach Eric Mateos. The Bears are incorporating a similar wide zone attack that was successful for BYU last season, with quarterback Zach Wilson calling the shots.
Baylor head coach Dave Aranda has strong ties to programs in the state of Utah. Aranda coached at Southern Utah in 2008 and Utah State in 2012 alongside former USU head coach Gary Andersen.
The all-time series between the two programs is tied at one game apiece. BYU won in 1984 in a revenge game in Provo on their path to a National Championship. The previous year BYU suffered their lone setback in 1983 against the Bears in Waco.
