BYU Basketball Guard Jesse Wade Enters NCAA Transfer Portal

PROVO, Utah – BYU basketball guard Jesse Wade, long removed from his escape out of the Indianapolis Westin elevator is entering the Transfer Portal.
Wade, a former star out of Davis High School, announced the move via his personal Twitter page. He’s not ruling out a potential return to BYU.
I had a great talk with Coach Pope today and I will be entering the transfer portal to explore possible options. There are multiple ways this can go and no doors are closed anywhere, including BYU. I just simply want to explore options and see what is out there.

Wade appeared in eight games during the 2020-21 season for BYU. He will be a potential grad transfer pickup for whichever team he ends up joining next year.
After transferring to BYU from Gonzaga in 2018, Wade battled injuries throughout his time with BYU. Last year, Wade missed the entire season due to a knee injury that was viewed as a potential “long-term” injury.
Wade worked hard in the last off-season to get back to playing this past year. He took numerous hikes up Y. Mountain in preparation for a return. Wade’s season-high for minutes played was 12 minutes in the second game of the season against New Orleans back on November 26th.

BYU concluded its 2020-21 season last Saturday in an NCAA Tournament First Round loss to the UCLA Bruins.
