Four-Star Timpview DE Logan Fano Commits To BYU Over Utah, Washington

PROVO, Utah – Timpview defensive end Logan Fano closed the door on his recruitment by re-committing to BYU.

It’s a full-circle moment for the 6-foot-4, 230-pound Fano who had committed to the Cougars when he was in eighth grade back in 2017. Fano was locked in with the Cougars for three years before de-committing this past January.

Now Fano is back in the fold in BYU’s 2021 recruiting class that is quietly have a strong finish as the Early Signing Period is quickly approaching next month.

Logan Fano picks BYU

Fano made the official commitment on Saturday night via his personal Instagram. Fano held a hat ceremony in front of friends and family picking the Cougars over Utah, Oklahoma, and Washington.

Fano’s decision comes one day after his Timpview teammate and childhood friend Raider Damuni reaffirmed his commitment to BYU. Like Damuni, Fano will serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints before enrolling at BYU.

During his senior season at Timpview, culminating as the runner-up in 5A, Fano racked up 115 tackles, 28.0 tackles for loss, and an eye-popping 20.5 sacks.

An elite athlete, Fano showed off agility and athleticism that led to 12 Power 5 programs offering the Provo native. BYU’s revamped recruiting staff led by Jasen Ah You and Jack Damuni have a strong connection to Fano, and they made the pass-rusher one of the top priorities in BYU’s 2021 class.

Fano is the 13th commitment in BYU’s 2021 recruiting class, and he’s the highest-rated commit in BYU’s class, according to 247Sports.
