PROVO, Utah – BYU’s mascot, Cosmo the Cougar, flew from behind the three-point line for a dunk during a timeout in the game between the Cougars and the San Francisco Dons.

The Cougars hosted the Dons at the Marriott Center in Provo on Saturday, February 8.

BYU’s dunk team stood behind the arc and lifted Cosmo up off of the court before launching the mascot into the air. As he glided towards the hoop, he received a pass from a member of the dunk team below him. Cosmo sailed more than 22-feet before throwing the ball through the cylinder to an eruption of applause from the Marriott Center crowd.

Cosmo attempted the dunk multiple times before successfully slamming the ball through the hoop.

The Cougars defeated the Dons 90-76 to improve to 19-7 on the season.

Cosmo’s Viral History

The BYU mascot has reached viral levels on social media multiple times for stunts and dance moves in the past.

A few years ago, Cosmo broke out on the scene with his dancing skills by performing to the song, “Rolex.”

The performance went viral and it led to the artists of the song, Ayo & Teo to perform with Cosmo the following winter at a BYU Basketball game.

Two years ago, Cosmo got up in his feelings and danced to songs by Drake.

Which performance from Cosmo is your favorite?
