BYU WR Neil Pau’u Arrested On Suspicion Of Drunk Driving

PROVO, Utah – BYU junior wide receiver Neil Pau’u was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving at 12:58 a.m. on June 8th by BYU Police. On Wednesday, Pau’u plead not guilty in Provo City court to a Class B misdemeanor according to court documents that KSL obtained.
BYU officials issued this statement on the matter: “We are aware of the situation and looking into it.”
Pau’u’s blood alcohol content level was 0.147 on June 8th. The legal limit in the state of Utah is 0.05. Pau’u’s BAC was well above the legal limit.
According to the affidavit obtained by KSL, Pau’u, who provided his California identifications to police, stated he had two jungle juices.
Pau’u, the younger brother to former BYU linebacker Butch Pau’u, is entering his third season on the BYU football team. Pau’u was expected to be in the two-deep this season for the Cougars.
Last season, Pau’u played in 13 games and had 18 receptions for 216 yards and one touchdown grab.
This past Tuesday, Pau’u was not in attendance at BYU Football Media Day which is held on campus.
