The Tremonton-Garland, Utah, police officers were shot and killed in the line of duty after responding to multiple 911 calls in a Tremonton neighborhood.
Deputy Mike Allred and his K-9, Azula, were also shot in the incident. After being shot, Allred was able to give directions to other officers responding to the scene, and told them where not to go so they didn’t end up in the line of fire, KSL TV reported.

Sorensen was 56 and had served in the department for 16 years. He was awarded a distinguished service award in February 2025 for his support to firefighters and EMT units.
Estrada joined the Tremonton-Garland Police Department earlier in 2025 after working with the Logan Police Department, Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office, and North Park Police Department.

Along with his work as a police officer, Estrada volunteered as a youth soccer coach in the Cache Valley community.
AGGIES FC, a team that Estrada helped coach before his passing, remembers the officer for his kindness and positivity on the pitch.
“He talked to us and helped us learn how to correct things,” one player shared. “Eric was always positive and liked to help us when we messed up.”
