Training camp for Team USA’s U19 squad runs from June 14 to June 16 at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
“We are looking forward to the pool of players coming to Colorado Springs with the hope to represent the United States at the FIBA U19 Men’s World Cup,” USA Basketball Men’s National Team director Sean Ford said in a written statement. “We are confident that we will build the best team to compete in Switzerland from this group of USA Basketball veterans and newcomers.”
AJ Dybantsa is no stranger to global competition with Team USA.
The heralded BYU freshman helped Team USA’s U17 National Team win gold at the FIBA U17 World Cup in Turkey last summer. He was also a key player in the U16 National Team’s win of gold at the 2023 FIBA Men’s U16 Americas Championship in Mexico.
Dybantsa also represented Team USA in the Nike Hoop Summit earlier this year in Portland, scoring 24 points, grabbing six rebounds, dishing out five assists, and coming up with three steals in the overtime win against World Select.

Dybantsa’s high school teammate at Utah Prep, JJ Mandaquit, was also invited to the U19 Training Camp. Mandaquit was part of Team USA’s FIBA U17 World Cup win last summer. The 6-foot-1 guard is signed to play his college career with the Washington Huskies.
Team USA’s U19 National Team is led by some of the coaches Dybantsa will face with BYU during Big 12 play this winter. Arizona’s Tommy Lloyd is the head coach, and Texas Tech headman Grant McCasland is an assistant coach.
Former BYU coach Mark Pope, current Kentucky head coach, is a court coach for Team USA’s U19 team during training camp.
