BYU Signee AJ Dybantsa Celebrates McDonald’s All-American Honor

HURRICANE, Utah – BYU basketball signee AJ Dybantsa celebrated his McDonald’s All-American recognition at Utah Prep.
“I have loved Utah since I got here. I hadn’t been in Utah until I heard about Utah Prep. But now, it’s great. It’s a great city in Hurricane,” Dybantsa said to fans who were in attendance to celebrate his McDonald’s All-American recognition.

Dybantsa is the first BYU basketball signee since 2000 to be named to the McDonald’s All-American Game. He’s the fifth BYU signee to be selected for the game. Others include Devin Durrant, Greg Kite, and Shawn Bradley.
Dybantsa celebrated the recognition with his Utah Prep teammates.
Other notable attendees to support included BYU football wide receiver Chase Roberts. The senior pass catcher will hold a football camp for high school athletes this summer at Utah Prep.
Dybantsa is the No. 1 recruit in the nation in the 247Sports Composite ratings for the 2025 recruiting class.

He’s the highest-rated recruit BYU basketball has ever signed.
The 2025 McDonald’s All-American Game will take place on April 1 in Brooklyn.
Dybantsa is the fourth player from a Utah high school in the past decade to be selected for the McDonald’s All-American Game (Frank Jackson, Lone Peak; Nolan Hickman, Wasatch Academy; Isiah Harwell, Wasatch Academy).

Along with being a McDonald’s All-American, Dybantsa received an honor on Wednesday, being named a Naismith Trophy First Team High School All-American.

Dybantsa joined Darius Acuff from IMG Academy, Nate Ament out of Highland School, Duke signee Cameron Boozer, and Kansas signee Darryn Peterson on the first team.
