Late Heroics From Keyonte George Power Utah Jazz Past Portland

SALT LAKE CITY- The Utah Jazz played their penultimate home game of the season tonight against Anfernee Simons and the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Utah Jazz found themselves down several possessions early in the game, but by the time the end of the first quarter rolled around, a late push powered by a couple of elite passes from Svi Mykhailiuk and Jaden Springer had the Jazz down by only four at the end of the period.

In the second, Utah caught fire from three-point range, hitting four to retake a lead. They finished the second strong and took a 55-52 lead into the halftime locker room.

For most of the second half, the teams were caught in a deadlock. Both teams extended leads, but neither was able to build.

With 2:25 remaining in the game, the Utah Jazz and Portland Trail Blazers were all knotted up at 110 a piece, but a late scramble for the ball turned into a foul committed by Brice Sensabaugh. Portland missed the second free throw, and Kyle Filipowski threw down a dunk on the other end to pull Utah to within one.

A string of missed free throws on the other end gave the Jazz the ball with 6.4 seconds down by two, with a chance to either tie or win the game, and Kyle Fillipowski took advantage, putting down another dunk, sending the game to overtime.

In the overtime period, Keynote George hit two huge three-pointers late to propel the Jazz past the Trail Blazers 133-126.
