Report: New York Knicks Hiring Utah Jazz Assistant Johnnie Bryant As Associate HC

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The New York Knicks are reportedly hiring Utah Jazz assistant coach Johnnie Bryant as Associate Head Coach for Tom Thibodeau.

Bryant started with the Jazz in 2012 as a player development assistant coach. During the 2014-15 season, Bryant was promoted to assistant coach. He was a standout basketball player in college for the University of Utah for two seasons from 2005-07. Bryant transferred from San Francisco City College and became a All-Mountain West player in each of his two seasons for the Runnin’ Utes.
The Knicks are overhauling their entire front office and coaching staff and have now taken the second member of the Jazz front office. Longtime sports agent Leon Rose was named President of the Knicks back in March. Scott Perry was retained as General Manager. Former Jazz vice president of player personnel and a member of the front office for 19 years, Walt Perrin was hired to be assistant General Manager in May.
Thibedau was named the head coach of the Knicks on July 30. He was previously the head coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves from 2016-19.
