Mitchell, Forrest Help Jazz Take Early Lead Over Mavericks

SALT LAKE CITY – Donovan Mitchell and Trent Forrest combined for 14 points to help the Utah Jazz outscore the Dallas Mavericks during the opening quarter.
The Mavericks hosted the Jazz at American Airlines Center on Sunday, March 27.
During the first 12 minutes of game time, the Jazz outpaced the Mavericks on the scoreboard, 29-21.
Mitchell led Utah with a team-high eight points on 3-8 shooting, including 1-3 from beyond the arc. The fifth-year guard added two rebounds and two assists in 11 minutes on the court.

Forrest added six points on 3-4 field goals off the bench. The Florida State product added three rebounds. Both players posted a plus-seven rating during their time on the hardwood.

This season, Mitchell is averaging 26.1 points per game, which ranks 11th in the NBA. Forrest averages 3.1 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per contest.

As a team, the Jazz finished the quarter shooting 48 percent overall and 40 percent from downtown.
Utah entered the matchup with an identical record as Dallas at 45-29 this season.
The Mavericks own a 25-12 record at home while the Jazz are 19-18 away from Salt Lake City.
