SALT LAKE CITY – The blender is working early in Charlotte as five quick-succession passes led to a wide open Mike Conley three against the Hornets.

Rudy Gay took a pass left side before dribbling into the paint. From there, Gay Trent Forrest in the near corner who swung to Conley. Conley took one dribble toward the paint before kicking to Jordan Clarkson on the left side. Clarkson then pump faked and drove by his defender, drawing Conley’s man in before calmly dropping the pass off to Conley for a wide open triple the put the Jazz up 29-25.

Conley has five points and an assist in 12 minutes in the early going against Charlotte. Conley is averaging 13.4 points, 5.3 assists, 1.3 steals per game this season while shooting 43.3 percent from the field.

The Jazz beat the Hornets 112-102 in mid-December but will be playing with a diminished roster in Charlotte as Bojan Bogdanovic and Danuel House Jr. remain out for tonight’s game. This is the sixth straight absence for Bogdanovic, and the fifth straight game missed due to injury by House Jr.

The Jazz are 1-2 on the current six-game road trip, the longest of the 2021-22 season for the Jazz and still have stops in Dallas, and Los Angeles to face the Clippers before returning home.

The Hornets saw a five game winning streak come to a close after falling to the New York Knicks on Wednesday.

The Jazz and Hornets  can be heard on The Zone Sports Network. The game is also televised on AT&T SportsNet and FuboTV.
