Jazz G Jordan Clarkson Buries Pair Of Quick Threes Off The Bench

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Jordan Clarkson entered the game for the Utah Jazz against the Indiana Pacers midway through the first quarter and is already hitting threes.

In just one minute on the floor, Jordan Clarkson made back-to-back three-pointers to get the Jazz going on a 6-0 run and taking a 17-14 lead over the Pacers with 5:23 remaining in the quarter. The Jazz had a 25-20 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Clarkson is making a strong case for the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award. He is averaging 17.6 points and 3.1 three-pointers made per game.

The Jazz struggled defensively early as the Pacers’ first four buckets were from beyond the arc and five of their first six. Domantas Sabonis and Jeremy Lamb each hit two triples, while Myles Turner had one.

For the Jazz, Donovan Mitchell started the game scoring 11 of their first 20 points. They are playing without Mike Conley, who is out with hamstring tightness. It was an injury that he suffered in their win over the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night.

The Jazz are wrapping up a three-game road trip. They will return to Vivint Arena for four straight games beginning on Tuesday, February 9 against the Boston Celtics at 8 p.m. MST on TNT.
