Report: Rodgers Tests Positive For COVID-19 Opening Door For Jordan Love’s First Start

SALT LAKE CITY – According to multiple reports, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers tested positive for COVID-19 opening the door for former Utah State QB Jordan Love to get his first NFL start.

Rodgers will be OUT for Sunday’s game against the Chiefs. Love is the only other active quarterback on the Packer’s roster.

The Packers picked Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, hoping to have him spend time learning from Rodgers. Green Bay traded up in the first round in order to pick the former Utah State signal-caller.

“That’s kind of what their plan is. I mean I’m here to develop and be the one to take over when he’s (Aaron Rodgers) out of here,” Love said during an interview on Fox Sports Radio. “I think that’s kind of their plan all along.”

Rodgers has led the Packers to a 7-1 record for far this season with late-game heroics in classic Rodgers style. The team sits atop the NFC North currently.

So far this season Rodgers has thrown for 1,894 yards and 17 touchdowns.

About Jordan Love Prior To His First Start

Prior to his time in the NFL, Love played for Utah State from 2016-19.

During his time with the Aggies, he threw for 8,600 yards, 60 touchdowns, and 29 interceptions with a completion rate of 61 percent.
