Tony Finau & Company Raise $1 Million During The American Express Charity Challenge

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Tour professionals Tony Finau and Paul Casey teamed up with country music star Jake Owen and United States Soccer legend Landon Donovan to raise $1 million for local charities in the La Quinta, California area.
Finau was partnered with Donovan who was able to raise $340,000 while Casey and Owen’s donated $660,000.
The American Express Charity Challenge, which was hosted by Phil Mickelson, is an annual charity tournament that has raised over $60 million since its inception in 1960.

Finau and Donovan represented ‘Youth Development and Education’ charities while Casey and Owen played for ‘Health and Wellness’ charities.
The 9-hole modified alternate shot challenge was hosted at PGA West, the home of the Career Builder Challenge, an annual stop on the PGA Tour.

Throughout the challenge, Finau showed off his remarkable club head speed and ball striking ability off the tee. On every hole that he hit driver, he out drove every other competitor by a long way. Midway through the round, Finau drove the green on a par 4 to win an additional $100,000 for his team.
Warm Up For Charity
The event acted as a warm up for the main event this upcoming Thursday, Friday and weekend as Finau is in the field at the Career Builder Challenge in which he will be paired alongside last weeks PGA Tour winner Kevin Na and rising star Mathew Wolff.
Finau will tee off at 11:50 a.m. on Thursday, January 21, on the Stadium Course before starting his second round at 10:40 a.m. on the Nicklaus Tournament Course.
