SALT LAKE CITY – Entering his third season with the Utah Utes, offensive tackle Spencer Fano is expected by many to be one of the best players in the nation in 2025.

Fano is next on the 2025 KSL Sports Zone Hans & Scotty G. 60 in 60 watchlist.

“Spencer Fano, one of the best offensive tackles in collegiate football,” Whittingham said, beginning with high praise for the junior.

Fano’s experience and leadership give Utah a considerable boost on the left side of the offensive line.

“He’s been starting since he was a true freshman,” Whittingham commented. “(He) is going to be the anchor of that offensive line and a real leader. He’s been voted captain and got the respect of his teammates.”

He has played 25 career games at Utah with 24 starts.

About Utah’s Spencer Fano

247Sports.com rated Fano the No. 12 offensive tackle in the country and No. 2 player from Utah after a standout prep career at Timpview High School.

He played 13 games for Utah as a true freshman in 2023, starting 12. Fano appeared on the CFN Freshman All-America first-team and was one of two freshmen in the country to start at left tackle in week one.

Fano made 12 starts at right tackle in 2024, earning First Team All-Big 12. The Spanish Fork, Utah, native was also named to the PFF First Team, Associated Press Second Team, and Walter Camp Second Team.

Fano did not allow a sack in the final 11 weeks of the season.

The 6’6, 308-pound Fano has already been named one of the best tackles in college football by ESPN, a Walter Camp Preseason All-America First Team nomination, and found his way onto the AP Preseason All-America First Team.
