SALT LAKE CITY – What Utah State lacks in returning players, they make up for with sixth-year quarterback Bryson Barnes leading the Aggie offense.
Entering his second season in Logan, Barnes is the latest entry into the 2025 KSL Sports Zone, Hans & Scotty G. 60 in 60 watchlist
“Bryson Barnes is a true competitor,” USU head coach Bronco Mendenhall said of the Milford, Utah, product. “He’s tough, he’s mature, he’s seasoned. He throws the ball well, good decision maker, and he can move the ball really well with his legs.”
Mendenhall highlighted Barnes’ leadership ability for a young team.
“I like the identity of Bryson as our quarterback under my leadership. I think there’s a lot that aligns there well. I think he gives us a good chance to win.”
Barnes gained 1,387 yards of total offense in 2024 and set a program record for QB rushing yards in a single game with 193 yards on 15 carries against San Diego State.
The Milford, Utah native completed 77-of-126 passes (61.1 percent) for 856 yards, 12 touchdowns, and six interceptions.
