Parker Kingston Is A ‘Big Play Waiting To Happen’ For BYU Football

SALT LAKE CITY – Parker Kingston has proven himself as one of the best playmakers in college football with the ball in his hands, and he’ll get more opportunities in 2025 with the BYU Cougars.
Kingston is the latest Cougar to find his name on the 2025 KSL Sports Zone Hans & Scotty G. 60 in 60 watchlist.
“Kingston is a big play waiting to happen,” BYU head coach Kalani Sitake said of his ultra-athletic wideout/kick-returner. “It doesn’t matter if you need to throw it, run it, return it, fumble it, and then pick it up and run it back for a touchdown. That’s just what he does. He’s a big playmaker, awesome, and fun to be around.”

Scoring plays dominate Kingston’s highlight reel, but Sitake points to his work ethic and fundamentals when discussing Kingston’s ability to do whatever the Cougars ask of him.
“His work ethic and what he is able to accomplish at such a young age,” Sitake began. “He came in here and was able to take on ownership of part of our game. Playing slot receiver and having more of a role in the receiver part has been really big for us, but also is just an underrated blocker.”
Sitake even teased using the Roy High School product more in the kick return game in 2025.
“We’re looking forward to seeing him doing more returns and taking over some of the kickoff return duties as well. (He’s a) complete player, tons of speed, and athletic ability. Looking forward to seeing the big plays he can make this year.”
About BYU’s Parker Kingston
Kingston was everywhere in the football field as a three-year prep starter at Roy H.S. He posted gaudy career numbers as a passer (187 of 314 passing for 2,649 yards and 24 TDs), runner (232 rushing carries for 2,136 yards and 33 TDs), receiver (34 receptions for 542 yards and five TDs), and returner (five kick returns for 256 yards and two TDs and five punt returns for 91 yards).
He led 6A with 18 rushing touchdowns as a senior, a year after finishing third in 6A with 15 TDs on the ground.

Beyond his impact as a receiver, Kingston flashed as a runner, punt returner, and even threw a pass or two.

Kingston caught 19 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown as a redshirt freshman in 2023. He added two passing touchdowns on gadget plays, a preview of his talented skillset.
The following year, he became the first Cougar with two punt return TDs since James Dye in 1996, and the sixth in program history with multiple punt return TDs in a season.
Kingston was named the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week on September 21 after his wild punt return TD helped the Cougars demolish a ranked Kansas State Wildcats team 38-9.

He finished the season with a career game against Colorado in the Alamo Bowl. Kingston had career-highs in all-purpose yards (126) and punt return yards (102) in a 36-14 pasting of the Buffaloes.
Kingston caught 13 passes for 196 yards and a TD, completed one 33-yard pass for a touchdown, and scored twice on special teams in 2024.
