Utah State Picked Ninth In 2025 Mountain West Preseason Poll

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah State Aggies head into the 2025 season as underdogs after being picked to finish ninth in the 12-team league. Boise State was tabbed as the conference favorite for the 15th straight season.
2025 Mountain West Football Media Days are being held at Circa Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Wednesday, July 16, and Thursday, July 17.

USU finished with a 4-8 record in 2024. The Aggies are playing their final season in the Mountain West. Utah State will join the new-look Pac-12 Conference for the 2026-27 academic year.

Four starters return alongside 18 letterwinners from the previous regime. Eight 2024 redshirts and 14 other previous members of the program also return for Bronco Mendenhall’s first season as a head coach in Logan.
Preseason All-Mountain West honoree Ike Larsen is the most decorated returning Aggie. Larsen earned First-Team All-Mountain West recognition in 2023 and was named the College Sports Communicators Comeback Player of the Year in 2024.

2023 All-MW honorable mention selection Broc Lane returns as a tight end. Defensive tackle Gabriel Iniguez Jr. anchors the defense after earning 2024 All-MW honorable mention.
USU is welcoming 68 newcomers into the fold, including 29 transfers from four-year programs. These athletes bring 416 games of college experience and 115 starts to Logan.
Twelve junior college transfers and 27 high school players round out the roster.
