Jackson will be a freshman at Salt Lake Community College this season. Jackson graduated high school in 2022 and served a church mission. This will be his first year of collegiate basketball since returning home. He is the younger brother of former Utah prep star and NBA guard, Frank Jackson.
Alvin Jackson III’s game
He’s currently listed on the SLCC roster as a 6-foot-5 guard and is expected to play a significant role for the Bruins. His former high school coach, Brandon Howell shared this about Jackson:
“Alvin Jackson III is a 3-point sniper, high basketball IQ, and extremely fundamental. He is athletic and loves to compete on the defensive end. He’s a 3-level scorer who is able to stretch the floor, score off the bounce, and will be able defend multiple positions.”
Utah basketball recruiting in 2025
This is the first of what should be a bigger recruiting class for Smith. Utah has four senior or fifth-year scholarship players that will be moving on from the program after the season. Combine that with the increased scholarship allotment from 13 to 15 next season, and Utah will have six spots to fill this cycle.
