SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz have signed forward Danuel House Jr. for the remainder of the season.

House Jr. had previously signed three 10-day contracts with the Jazz, including a hardship deal in early January, and two traditional 10-day deals later in the month.

In seven games with the Jazz, House Jr. has averaged 8.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.4 blocks, and 0.7 steals in 19.3 minutes per contest.

The Jazz have struggled on the perimeter defensively this season, and House Jr. offers the Jazz additional length and athleticism on the floor.

“Coming over here and being welcomed with loving arms, it makes you really enjoy the process and everything,” House Jr. said. “The staff, the organization, they just do an unbelievable job from top to bottom to make sure that every player on this roster has whatever they need whenever they need it and so much more.”

In House Jr.’s last game with the Jazz, the forward scored 21 points on 7-11 shooting from the floor including 4-6 from the three-point line.

House Jr. is in his sixth season in the NBA. The forward began his career in 2016 with the Phoenix Suns before playing for the Washington Wizards in his second season.

The forward found his footing in three seasons as a member of the Houston Rockets where he started 88 out of 138 games over the stretch.

It’s been a busy week for the Jazz who traded veteran guard Joe Ingles and second-year forward Elijah Hughes on Wednesday ahead of the NBA trade deadline.

In return, the Jazz acquired guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker and veteran forward Juancho Hernangomez.

With House Jr. on the roster, the Jazz have 14 players on traditional contracts, one short of the roster maximum. Second-year guard Trent Forrest is signed to one of the team’s two two-way contracts.

Forrest has become a regular in the team’s rotation in Ingles absence. The Jazz would have to convert Forrest to a traditional contract before the end of the season in order for him to be eligible for the postseason.
