Minor League Baseball Delays 2021 Triple-A Season, Salt Lake Bees Opener

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Minor League Baseball notified the Salt Lake Bees that the 2021 Triple-A season has been delayed by four weeks.

The delayed start was announced on Wednesday, March 3.
Salt Lake will now start its season against the Reno Aces on Thursday, May 6.
The game will be played at Smith’s Ballpark in Salt Lake City.

In mid-February, the Bees announced their 2021 schedule. Salt Lake was originally scheduled to begin a 142-game slate on April 8.
The new schedule will add home games for the Bees on July 12-13 against the Sacramento River Cats.
Ball games that were scheduled for April will not be rescheduled.
The new schedule for Salt Lake consists of 120 games. 60 games will be played at home and the other half will take place on the road.
MLB has informed the Bees that the 2021 season will be delayed by 4 weeks.
New opening day is scheduled for May 6.

The Minor League club did not play in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Bees are the Triple-A affiliated of Major League Baseball’s Los Angeles Angels.
