SALT LAKE CITY – Getting removed from the lineup is usually a bad thing, but for Salt Lake Bees infielder Chad Stevens, it will be a moment he likely never forgets.
Yolmer Sanchez replaced Stevens at third base in the bottom of the second inning against the Tacoma Rainiers after the big league Los Angeles Angels were left in need due to an injury to Christian Moore.

Stevens has raked for the Bees all season.
He leads Salt Lake in hits (81) and his .307 batting average his far and away the best for a Bees regular in 2025. His .383 on-base percentage is tied with Niko Kavadas for the team lead among players with more than 32 appearances.
The right-handed hitting infielder added 14 homers, 43 runs batted in, and nine stolen bases for the Bees in 72 games.
About Chad Stevens
Stevens was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 40th round of the 2017 MLB draft following a stellar prep career at Gig Harbor High School in Washington. He led the Tides to a Washington State 3A Championship as a senior.
Stevens went on to slash .291/.351/.432 across four seasons (170 games) with the Portland Pilots. His overall performance improved each year, culminating with career-highs in average (.333), homers (8), doubles (19), and RBI (29) as a senior in 2021.
He began his pro career after the Houston Astros selected him in the 11th round (328th overall) of the 2021 MLB draft.

Stevens was promoted to Double-A Rocket City in late July. He made his Triple-A debut in August with the Bees.
