Utes Football Team Performs ‘Utah Mili’ In End Zone One Last Time For Ty Jordan

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utes football team performed the “Utah Mili” in the end zone one last time one last time for Ty Jordan at AT&T Stadium.

The team was gathered around the casket of Ty Jordan in the end zone at the home of the Cowboys when they did the “Utah Mili” chant.
Utah recruiting assistant Aaron Amaama tweeted out the video of the team doing the chant at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Before every game after warmups and just as the team goes to the locker room one last time before kickoff, they will gather around and do the “Utah Mili.” According to a story by the Las Vegas Sun, it’s a Samoan war chant.
Most of the team was present at the Celebration of Life for Ty Jordan that was held on Wednesday, January 6. Head coach Kyle Whittingham, athletics director Mark Harlan and running backs coach Kiel McDonald spoke at the services.
The immediate impact that Jordan had on the football program and the community will never be forgotten by anyone who follows Utah football.
Jordan died on Christmas night in Denton, Texas near his hometown to an accidental self-inflicted gun shot wound in his abdomen.
The Mesquite, Texas native ran for 597 yards and 6 touchdowns in his first season with the Utes. Jordan was named Pac-12 Offensive Freshman of the Year, earned Associated Press Newcomer of the Year and was named a Freshman All-American by 247Sports.
