SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Detroit Pistons signed former Lone Peak guard Frank Jackson to a two-way deal following the team’s first two games of the 2020-21 regular season.

Detroit announced the addition of Jackson on Sunday, December 27.

Two-way NBA contracts allow players to “spend the bulk of the season in the NBA G League and not more than 45 days with their NBA team. Two-Way players are paid a corresponding daily amount based on the number of days they play in each league. Only players in their fourth NBA season or earlier are able to sign Two-Way Contracts, which can be for either one or two seasons.”

The former Knights standout is joining a Pistons roster that is 0-2 to begin the season.

Jackson’s addition to the Pistons comes less than a week after he was waived by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

He first joined the Thunder on December 4 and played in three preseason games for OKC.

Prior to joining the Thunder, the guard played his first two seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans.

New Orleans acquired Jackson via trade on draft night.

He was originally selected by the Charlotte Hornets with the No. 31 overall pick during the second round of the 2017 NBA Draft.

During his two seasons with the Pelicans, Jackson averaged 7.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 120 games. He started 18 games during his years with New Orleans.

Prior to his time in the league, Jackson played high school basketball at Lehi and Lone Peak.

After graduating from high school, he spent one season playing college basketball at Duke before declaring for the NBA Draft.
