Aggies QB Jason Shelley Dismissed From Utah State Football Team

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State announced on Sunday evening that quarterback Jason Shelley has been dismissed from the football team for a violation of team rules.

Aggies interim head coach Frank Maile made the move and will not comment on this matter moving forward, according to Utah State’s press release.
Shelley was in his first season at Utah State after transferring from Utah. He started in all four games this season for the Aggies, completing 51-of-99 passes for 420 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Shelley went 9-of-24 passing for 144 yards, while rushing for 8 yards on 12 carries in Utah State’s loss to Fresno State on Saturday. Against Nevada last week, Shelley threw for 96 yards and one touchdown.

In three seasons with the Utes, Shelley played 19 games, including five starts.
Utah State will likely turn to sophomore QB Andrew Peasley to be the starter. He received game reps in three contests this season.
The Aggies are off to a 0-4 start following the loss to Fresno State. It was the first game since the program fired head coach Gary Andersen. They will travel to Wyoming to face the Cowboys on Thursday night at 7 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
