BYU Football Announces 2020 Game Against Boise State

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – BYU Football announced an additional contest to its 2020 football schedule against Boise State.

The Broncos will host the Cougars at Albertsons Stadium in Boise, Idaho on November 7, 2020.

“The annual game between BYU and Boise State has become a much-anticipated regional rivalry between two universities with great football traditions,” BYU Director of Athletics Tom Holmoe said in statement. “We are pleased the Mountain West Conference determined to play football in 2020 and worked with Boise State to allow this previously scheduled non-conference game to be played.”

With the addition, BYU’s schedule features eight games with scheduled dates after the Cougars’ contest against Army was postponed. BYU’s game against the Black Knights is still listed by the school as postponed.

BYU and Boise State have announced the two schools will play football on Nov. 7, 2020, at Albertsons Stadium in Boise, Idaho.

Prior to the Mountain West’s postponement of fall sports in August, BYU and Boise State were scheduled to play on November 7 as part of a 10-year scheduling agreement between the two schools.

Last season, Boise State finished with a 12-2 record with one of the losses coming at BYU in a 28-25 win for the Cougars.

The Broncos finished the season ranked No. 19.

Boise State and BYU have played each other 10 times since 2003. The Broncos lead the all-time series 7-3. The Cougars have never won in Boise and are 0-5 on the Broncos’ blue turf.

Television plans for the BYU vs. Boise State game have yet to be announced.

BYU currently owns a 2-0 record through its first two games. The Cougars opened the season with wins over Navy and Troy. BYU will host Louisiana Tech for its third game of the season on Friday, October 2 at 7 p.m. (MDT). The game will air on ESPN2 and KSL NewsRadio 1160 AM and 102.7 FM.
