SALT LAKE CITY, Utah –  Utah Jazz small forward Joe Ingles and other Aussie NBA players joined the relief effort for brushfires that continue to devastate Australia with a donation of $750,000.

Ingles joined his countrymen Aron Baynes (Phoenix Suns), Jonah Bolden (Philadelphia 76ers), Ben Simmons (Philadelphia 76ers), Ryan Broekhoff (Dallas Mavericks), Matthew Dellavedova (Cleveland Cavaliers), Dante Exum (Cleveland Cavaliers), Thon Maker (Detroit Pistons) and Patty Mills (San Antonio Spurs) in donating to brushfire relief.

“So proud to be Australian & to see what’s going on in my country is absolutely devastating. Glad to partner with the NBA, NBA Players Association, and my fellow Aussie NBA players to contribute to the Australian bushfire relief efforts,” wrote Ingles.

The nine players partnered with the NBA and the NBA Players Association in rejoining relief efforts.

“We are heartbroken over the devastation these fires are causing all across our homeland,” the NBA players said in a joint statement. “Our thoughts are with our families, friends and all of the people of Australia. We hope you feel our love and support and know that we will continue to bring awareness to this crisis globally and provide assistance in any way we can.”

Brushfires across Australia have killed 24 people, destroyed over 2,000 homes, and consumed more than 12 million acres of land.

“Thank you to all who are fighting for and supporting our country,” said Ingles. “Renae Ingles and I will also be announcing some more fundraising in partnership with the Utah Jazz in the coming days.”
