Jaren Hall Suffers Concussion Against Utah State

LOGAN, Utah – BYU redshirt freshman quarterback Jaren Hall suffered a concussion in the first half against rival Utah State on Saturday night in Logan.

Hall has started in two games in his BYU career and in both starts has suffered head injuries that have forced him to leave the game early.

The last snap Hall took against Utah State was a touchdown run for seven yards to give BYU a 21-7 lead with 2:33 left in the half.

Backup quarterback Baylor Romney then took the final snap of the first half on a kneel down.

BYU head coach Kalani Sitake was asked by Mitchell Juergens of the BYU Sports Network that was heard on KSL Newsradio the status of Hall and Sitake said that Hall would be okay and it shouldn’t be a problem.

Then Romney took the snaps to begin to the third quarter and it was then announced that Hall had suffered a concussion that would sideline him for the remainder of the game.

Romney, who started in BYU’s victory over Boise State two weeks ago, led BYU on his first drive against Utah State on a touchdown drive that was capped off by an 11-yard touchdown pass to Micah Simon. Then on his second drive he led another touchdown score on a two-yard connection to his brother Gunner Romney.
