WESTWOOD, Calif. – Utah trailed by 22 points with 13 minutes left before they stormed back and picked up the 93-92 win over the UCLA Bruins on a game-winning three pointer by Parker Van Dyke.

Van Dyke finished with 15 points, while Timmy Allen led the way with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Sedrick Barefield added 19 points and 7 assists.

UCLA was led by Jaylen Hands with a career-high 27 points to go with his 7 assists and 5 rebounds. Kris Wilkes chipped in 17 points.

Jalen Hill added 12 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists.

UCLA Controls Paint In First Half

The Bruins were scoring easily in the first five minutes of the game as they took a 12-8 lead. The advantage would inflate to 27-17 with 7 minutes left in the half.

At that point, UCLA made 12 of their first 17 field goal attempts.

UCLA held a 49-32 lead at halftime after dominating the paint in the first 20 minutes, 32-10. They had three players in double figures led by Hands with 12 points, Wilkes with 11 and Hill with 10 points.

Sedrick Barefield was the only Ute in double figures after the first half with 10 points.

Utah Completes Comeback

The Utes kept up with the Bruins in through the first 11 minutes of the second half with each team scoring 25 points, Utah trailed 74-57.

Parker Van Dyke hit his third three-pointer with 8 minutes left in the game to cut the Bruins lead to 14.

Timmy Allen hit a pair of free-throws to put Utah within 10 points with 2:30 left in the game.

Both Gach made one free throw and Van Dyke nailed another triple and Utah trailed 84-81 with 48 seconds left in the game, lifting the Utes to an 11-1 run.

Utah fouled UCLA and the Bruins made just one of their two attempts with 35 seconds left. Barfield couldn’t hit a three-pointer and the Bruins countered by hitting both of their free throws on the following possession.

Down by 4 with 10 seconds left, Gach hit a three-pointer to trim the lead to one before Singleton of UCLA made both free-throws.

The Bruins fouled Utah, sending Barefield to the foul line with 6 seconds, making both attempts. The Utes were down by one with 5 seconds remaining.

David Singleton made just one of his two free throw attempts and had a two point lead. Barefield handed off to Van Dyke, who nailed the game-winning three to complete the comeback for the Utes.
