“First off, I’d like to thank God for the opportunity to play the game I love,” said Davis in the video. “I especially want to thank my family and supportive fans. I also want to thank SIU and the ‘Dawg Pound’ for the forever memories and bonds we’ve made. It’s been a long journey. But I still have a long way to complete my childhood dream. With that being said, I will be transferring to BYU. Go Cougars!”
Davis will have two years of eligibility remaining in his college career.
The 6-foot-6, 215-pound prospect from St. Louis, Missouri, was a Second Team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection this past season.
This past season, he averaged 16.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists and shot 45.5% from the field.
Davis Jr. joins former Baylor guard Rob Wright and Washington wing Dominique Diomande as the third transfer addition in the 2025 cycle.

He started in 29 games last season for Southern Illinois and knocked down 61 three-pointers, shooting 37.9% from beyond the arc.
That was a seven percent increase from the 30% clip during his freshman campaign with the Salukis.
There were reports that DePaul, Ohio State, Miami, Texas, Vanderbilt, USC, and others were involved in Davis’ transfer portal recruitment.
