Elijah Crawford spent one season with the BYU basketball program
The 6-foot-2 prospect from Augusta, Georgia, appeared in 21 games during the 2024-25 season. He was outside of BYU’s highly publicized 11-man rotation this past season.
Crawford’s appearances typically took place at the end of games. His biggest appearances were during nonconference games. During BYU’s 20-game Big 12 schedule and the postseason, he appeared in a total of 17 minutes.
Crawford was a notable addition to BYU’s roster when they added him last spring. The former Stanford Cardinal signee flipped to BYU to follow assistant coach Brandon Dunson and contend for point guard minutes.
His commitment occurred before BYU signed Egor Demin from Real Madrid last year.
Crawford was then buried on the depth chart at point guard behind Demin and Dallin Hall.
Three years of eligibility remaining
A former standout at the Brewster Academy, Crawford was a composite four-star recruit in the 2024 recruiting cycle and was rated the 112th prospect nationally.
During his senior year at the Brewster Academy, Crawford averaged 13.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.
He brought great energy to the Cougars’ bench squad this past year at BYU. Crawford will have three years remaining in his collegiate career.
He’s the second BYU player from the 2025 team to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal. The other is Kanon Catchings.
