BYU remains one of the hottest teams in college basketball over the past three weeks. Kevin Young’s squad is on a six-game winning streak after knocking off Arizona State in Tempe and West Virginia at home last week.
BYU is 21-8 overall and 12-6 in Big 12 play.
They will look to extend their winning streak on Tuesday against another team in the AP Top 25, Iowa State.
The Cyclones dropped from No. 9 to No. 10 in this week’s poll. They have occupied a spot in the Top 10 of the national rankings the entire season. Tuesday will be the first meeting this year between the two teams.
Along with BYU and Iowa State, three other teams from the Big 12 were in the national rankings, led by back-to-back Big 12 Champion Houston. The Coogs moved up to No. 3 in the AP Top 25.
Texas Tech jumped in front of Iowa State at No. 9. The fifth and final team from the Big 12 in the AP Top 25 is Arizona, who remained in at No. 24.
While this week marks BYU’s second appearance in the AP Top 25 this season, the streaking Cougars debuted in the Coaches Poll on Monday.
The USA Today Coaches Poll slotted BYU at No. 22 for the week. They are one spot ahead of Arizona, which they defeated two weeks ago.
