SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz have lost five of their last eight games, matching the total they had through the first 29 games of the season when they started the year 24-5.  At what point should fans of the team begin to panic?

In the latest episode of the Jazz Notes podcast, Ben Anderson discussed the team’s recent string of losses and whether fans should be hitting the panic button or not.

Jazz Haven’t Hit Panic Button

While a segment of Jazz fans may be ready to panic, coach Quin Snyder said that isn’t the case within the team’s locker room even after Thursday’s loss to the Washington Wizards.

The Jazz fell 131-122 after trailing by as many as 24 points in the first half.

“I don’t think we’re a team that is in panic mode in any way shape or form,” Snyder said before the Jazz face the Toronto Raptors on Friday night. “But I think there is a desire to play well and play the right way, that’s what we’re trying to do.”

The Jazz haven’t played to the level that they showed regularly during the first half of the season outside of a few minutes in the team’s win on the road against the Boston Celtics.

Snyder said the team’s issues have more to do with a string of slow starts, rather than with the team panicking midway through the season.

“The way we start games, that’s been a challenge for us to continually try to play from behind,” Snyder said. But obviously, if we’re doing that, there isn’t a panic.”
