SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Jazz coach Quin Snyder has been named NBA Coach of the Month for the month of February.

The Jazz went 12-2 for the month and own the best record in the NBA at 27-8 for the season. The team currently sits three games ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers for the top spot in the Western Conference.

Snyder was also named Coach of the Month for December and January, becoming the first coach in Jazz history to earn the award in back-to-back months. The 54-year-old is the only Jazz coach to win the award twice in the same year.

Snyder earned his first Coach of the Month award in April of 2018 for games played in March and April of that year when the Jazz went 17-4, equalling the best record in the Western Conference during the stretch.

Snyder is only the second coach in Jazz history to win the award three times, joining the late Jerry Sloan who won the award 10 times during his Hall of Fame career. Former coach Frank Layden earned the honor two times.

It’s been a milestone-filled season for Snyder, now in his seventh year with the Jazz. In January, Snyder passed Layden for the second most coaching wins in team history at 278 and coached his 500th game for the team.

Last month, Snyder was named head coach of Team LeBron in the upcoming All-Star game due to the Jazz owning the best record in the Western Conference.

Snyder has a record of 298-219 with the Jazz for a winning average of .576. The Jazz coach is the seventh-longest tenured play-caller in the NBA.

Brooklyn Nets head coach Steve Nash earned the honors for the Eastern Conference after leading his team to a 9-4 record in the month.
