Report: Utah Jazz To Sign Veteran Forward James Ennis To 10-Day Deal

UPDATE: ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported that the Utah Jazz no longer plan to sign James Ennis III. The free agent forward was reportedly a close contact to someone with COVID-19.
The Utah Jazz are no longer planning to sign James Ennis on a 10-day contract and continue to scour the marketplace for a free agent wing player, sources tell ESPN.

Ennis is now unable to move forward with Jazz signing due to being a close contact, sources said. Utah needed immediate body for Monday in Detroit.

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz plan to sign veteran forward James Ennis III to a 10-day contract, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Utah will add Ennis to a roster currently depleted by injuries and COVID-19.
The Jazz currently have four players on in NBA Health & Safety protocols. Those players are Rudy Gobert, Joe Ingles, Rudy Gay, and Elijah Hughes.
Other than Gobert, the other three players are all forwards.

Ennis previously spent time with the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers earlier this season.
Before his time in the league, Ennis played college basketball at Oxnard. He was selected by the Atlanta Hawks during the second round of the 2013 NBA Draft.
Ennis has played for nine teams during his career.
The forward owns career averages of 6.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.3 blocks, and 0.6 steals in 20.4 minutes per game. This season, Ennis is averaging 6.3 points and 2.5 rebounds in four games played.
The Jazz have a record of 28-12 and sit in first place in the Northwest Division.
