SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz will once again find themselves playing on one of the NBA’s biggest stages as they are set to host Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks on Christmas night, according to the league.

ESPN’s Tim MacMahon and Adrian Wojnarowski were the first to report the news of the Jazz are one of a handful of teams that will compete in the league’s annual holiday showcase.

“The Christmas nightcap, per sources: Luka Doncic’s Mavericks face Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert and the Jazz in Salt Lake City,” MacMahon tweeted.

The Jazz last played on Christmas Day in 2018 when they hosted Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers in a 117-96 blowout victory.

The league will also feature the Atlanta Hawks resisting their opening-round playoff matchup against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, and LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, and Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers hosting Kyrie Irving, James Harden, and Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets at Staples Center.

The NBA traditionally hosts five games on Christmas Day beginning at noon ET and finish with a 10:30 pm tip.

The Jazz are 5-2 all-time in Christmas Day games but hadn’t been highlighted on the platform since 1997 before their battle with the Blazers in 2018.

The team previously competed in 1975, 1977, 1979, 1982, and 1988.

The Jazz will soon learn the rest of their NBA schedule as the league traditionally releases its calendar in late August.

The Jazz open preseason play on Monday, October 4 against the San Antonio Spurs at AT&T Center at 6:30 p.m. MT. They will stay in the Lonestar state and face the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday, October 6 at American Airlines Center at 6 p.m. MT.

The Jazz then travel back to Salt Lake City and host the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday, October 11 at 7 p.m. MT and wrap up the preseason on Wednesday, October 13 against the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks at 7 p.m. MT.

The regular season opens across the league on October 19.
