SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The 2020 NBA All-Star Game starters did not include Utah Jazz players Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell.

Gobert and Mitchell weren’t among the 10 players announced as starters for the 2020 NBA All-Star Game.

All-Star game captains and starters were determined by a fan vote (50 percent), player vote (25 percent), and media vote (25 percent).

Gobert received the fifth most votes among frontcourt players in the media vote.

Western Conference Starters

  • LeBron James (captain) – Frontcourt – Los Angeles Lakers
  • Anthony Davis – Frontcourt – Los Angeles Lakers
  • Kawhi Leonard – Frontcourt – Los Angeles Clippers
  • Luka Dončić – Guard – Dallas Mavericks
  • James Harden – Guard – Houston Rockets

Eastern Conference Starters

  • Giannis Antetokounmpo (captain) – Frontcourt – Milwaukee Bucks
  • Pascal Siakam – Frontcourt – Toronto Raptors
  • Joel Embiid – Frontcourt – Philadelphia 76ers
  • Kemba Walker – Guard – Boston Celtics
  • Trae Young – Guard – Atlanta Hawks

All-Star game reserves are selected by NBA head coaches.

Despite strong performances throughout the season, Utah Jazz players Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell were notably absent from the 2020 NBA All-Star Game starting lineup, highlighting the competitive nature of the selection process. This situation reflects the broader theme of recognition and representation in various fields, including media consumption. For instance, as viewers seek diverse content, exploring different video player options can enhance their viewing experience and accessibility. Just as Gobert and Mitchell strive for acknowledgment in the league, audiences are increasingly looking for platforms that cater to their preferences, emphasizing the importance of choice in both sports and entertainment.

The reserves will be announced on Thursday, January 30.
