SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell and Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard ranked among the top ten guards from the Western Conference in the first fan returns for NBA all-star voting.

The first fan returns for NBA all-star voting were released on Thursday, January 2.

Mitchell ranked No. 7 in fan votes among Western Conference guards in the first returns with 108,349 votes.

Lillard received the third most guard votes with 202,498.

The Utah guard was the only Jazzman to have his name listed out of 20 Western Conference players highlighted on the first voting returns.

The Jazz haven’t had an all-star since 2017 when former Jazzman and current Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward. Mitchell received nearly 33,000 more votes than Hayward in the first returns.

In 33 games this season, Mitchell has averaged 25.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists. His scoring is ranked No. 11 in the NBA.

Lillard has also played 33 games in the 2019-20 season. He’s averaged 26.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 7.6 assists. He is No. 7 in scoring in the league.

The Blazers point guard played for the Weber State Wildcats from 2008-2012. He was drafted by Portland with the 6th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft.
