SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz got off to a scorching hot start against the Milwaukee Bucks by knocking down an incredible 10 first quarter three-pointers.

The Jazz shot 10-18 overall led by Donovan Mitchell who shot 3-6 from downtown for 14 points.

Mike Conley and Royce O’Neale each knocked down 2-3 three-point attempts, while Danuel House Jr., Rudy Gay, and Jordan Clarkson added threes of their own.

The number fell two shy of the NBA record for made threes by the Phoenix Suns who hit 12 in the second quarter of a game against the Houston Rockets last season.

Despite their 10 first quarter three-pointers, the Jazz led the Bucks by only two, 39-37, after the first quarter.

Perhaps the most impressive part of the Jazz three-point shooting was that they did it without Bojan Bogdanovic, their second most prolific three-point shooter.

Bogdanovic was ruled out against the Bucks shortly before tip-off.

Bucks Bringing Back Key Piece

While the Jazz were without Bogdanovic against Milwaukee, the Bucks welcomed back a key piece of their championship roster in Brook Lopez.

Lopez hasn’t played since opening night, underwent back surgery in early December, and has been rehabilitating the injury over the last three months.

Without Lopez, the Bucks defense has fallen outside of the top 10 in the NBA this season for the first time under coach Mike Budenholzer.

Former Jazzman George Hill also returned to the Bucks lineup after missing the last 16 games with neck soreness.

Despite the injuries, the Bucks own the second-best record in the East behind the Miami Heat.

Broadcast

The Jazz and Bucks can be heard on KSL NewsRadio and The Zone Sports Network. The game is being televised on ESPN, AT&T SportsNet, and FuboTV.
