SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Jazz forward Royce O’Neale threw down a thunderous one-handed slam dunk in Utah’s game against the Indiana Pacers.

O’Neale and the Jazz hosted the Pacers at Vivint Smart Home on Monday, January 20.

The Jazz forward received a fast break assist from Donovan Mitchell before rising up to forcefully throw the ball through the cylinder with his right hand.

O’Neale’s three-foot dunk gave Utah an 18-10 lead over the Pacers with 6:01 remaining in the first quarter.

At halftime, the Jazzman recorded 5 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. He posted a +8 plus-minus rating in 16 minutes on the court during the first half.

Utah led the Pacers 56-44 at the break.

Monday’s game against the Pacers was O’Neale first since agreeing to a four-year contract extension with the Jazz organization.

O’Neale’s Deal

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, O’Neale’s new deal is worth $36 million over the next four years.

The 2019-20 season was previously O’Neale’s final year under contract. He is now under contract with the Jazz through the 2023-24 season.

“Re-signing Royce to a long-term extension was a priority for our organization,” said Dennis Lindsey, Utah Jazz executive vice president of basketball operations. “Royce is an elite defender and has really shown the ability to spread the floor with his shooting. We feel he brings a versatility to our team that’s vital to our success. We’re happy that we were able to retain not only a great player in Royce, but also a tremendous person.”

The Pacers and Jazz game is broadcast on NBA League Pass, AT&T SportsNet, and 97.5 FM.
